I'm not dead, but this Journal is!
RL got busy so I rarely have time to login to FFXI. no FFXI = no LiveJournal.

I moved out of my apartment and into a house with another guy my age, cutting my monthly rent in half (plus the house is way better than my apartment). Ever since I moved in we've been going out and getting drunk on a fairly regular basis (2 nights a week?). Combined with work and my other social activities, it doesn't leave many nights for FFXI. And even then I'd rather loaf around and watch TV or catch up on sleep after being out drinking to 2 AM the night before.

I also got a free pass to the Gym for a week. I went on Monday and Thursday and it feels good, so I'm considering paying for a full membership even though it's stupidly expensive ($40 a month for 2 years or something...)

Work has gotten REALLY slow because I'm done with my coding but the hardware people are way late on installing the stuff my code needs to run on. No hardware for me = no way to test my code = nothing to do. I literally left work today at 1 PM, came home, and took a 4 hour nap.

Anyway, tonight we did sea and I noticed a new message I've never seen before. Soloo was kiting so he ran out of range by the time the TP move would have gone off. At least I'm pretty sure this message is new...

Wow, never seen that message myself either. Usually only see, "So-and-so is out of range." or something on that line.

Yeah, I believe that message was recently added. I've only seen it at a couple of things, namely this fight and the Kraken BC. It basically has to do with the intended target being out of range of the AoE and nobody else within a valid range either. Since somebody from the alliance is usually near the mob, most AoEs go off, I believe, so that might be why it's rarely seen. I don't know for sure, though.

Grats on the move man. I wish I could find somewhere cheaper to live, killing my bank account where I'm at now (of course thats because I'm trying to live off savings alone, jobs are boring!)

Hey, apparently I hold my alcohol a lot better than I thought! These past few times I've had like 5-6 beers + some shots and drove home fine without a hangover in the morning. And I've never been at a point where I can't walk or talk normally. My roommate is determined to get me drunk off my ass one time though, I would probably want to do that at a party in somebodies house than out at a bar. Good times, it's nice to be young :)

Hahaha, same. I first drank with my current roomies and I could not get drunk off beer, just couldn't! So they started buying Soju which is like the Korean equivalent of Vodka (all three of my roomies are Korean) and we started killing the hard stuff. That worked pretty well but still not REALLY drunk. Only time I got REALLY drunk was with Jack and coke, holy crap, it taste so good so I just kept downing it. I was goneeee world was spinning, but even after that I woke up without a hangover!

I've seen that a number of times, though it's mostly been during that fight. I don't think it's too recent, it's just pretty rare to see it, as it's also not for every ability a mob uses (Kirin for instance). I think it'll only go off for an AOE move.

That message isn't new, I saw it 2 years ago while kiting a goblin as it tried to bomb toss me - it also happened a bit before that, with whirl of rage.

Probably just rare as it has some difficult requirement to bug out, otherwise you could avoid a lot of damage by exploiting it.
