Pulling and Travel Path

START - Start here. Wait for enough people to enter

1 - Pull the first stone here. Makes for good warmup while people are still entering the area

2 - There's 2 stones here. You can pull them without linking but it's no big deal if they link.

3 - The Chocobo Stables has 3 stones, each of which spawns several BST. You can pull the one closes to the Mog House and it won't link all of them. 4 BST is better than 6! =p

4 - 8 - As you make your way west, alternate pulling from the front of the AH, and inside the AH. Also pull the monsters at the zone to Gustaberg.

9 - My memory is fuzzy, but I know there's some sort of tricky pull here. I believe there is a stone that when aggrod, spawns 4 additional stones (but no additional quadavs). Need to prepare BLM to nuke those stones when they pop so they don't rape everyone.

10 - Keep going north. You may need to pull something from behind the AH

11 - Here you'll find 2 stones under some scaffolding. The closer one spawns nothing, the 2nd one spawns some BST. The stone on top of this scaffolding spawns a single SMN

12 - Pull this stone for a time extend NM and HP Stone (I think HP?)

*Note, it may be necessary / good idea to pull 18 at this time instead. Need to confirm next time I go.

13 - Begin pulling from the lower alchemy area

14 - Most of the stones down here hide in the doorways. Some of them "ambush" you by spawning mobs behind you, but it's nothing serious.

15 - Take note of the stone in this stairway. You can skip it if you want, but if you're going for a full clear might as well pull it

16 - Pull the NM along with some other nearby stones. This fight is usually pretty long, and the NM can cause quite a bit of death with the Wrath of Gu'Dah TP attack

17 - After clearing the Trigger NM, pull these 3 stones for a large group of SMNs. The NM itself will give the time extend.

18 - Pull this next if you haven't done so already

19 - Clear towards the Markets zone

20 - For some reason, I remember there being a single DRG mob pre-popped here. Regardless, clear this area out next

21 - You will notice a NM Quadav standing in the middle of the area. You can pull this without linking to any stones there.

22 - The Stone at the base of this ramp pops 3 quadavs along the ramp which don't usually link to the stone itself. These 3 quadav can be pulled WITHOUT linking the NM up top, and each one gives a +10 extension.

23 - Pull this NM along with its friends. This makes a considerably large train most of the time

24 - 29 - Clear these out next. The numbered order is just a suggestion but it really doesn't matter what order you clear these out in. Note that the MP stone at 27 on top of the scaffolding does not spawn any monsters.

30 - Begin clearing the upper alchemy level next

31 - Your first goal is to clear out Camp D so the main group can move there

32 - Pull these next just because they are too close for comfort. People tend to wander around and might stupidly aggro them.

33 - Evil Tarus can "snipe" these mobs from the other side if they want. GA Nuking kills stuff fast (and is entertaining), but the drop rate for items is horrible

34 - Take note that the MP stone is tempting, but there is another stone in the nearby stairwell that will link to it. Pull the stairwell stone first if you don't feel like making a link.

35 - Keep pulling this way. Only did this once so can't remember anything too specific about the monsters

36 - 2 stones here. One spawns a MNK (and something else), other spawns a NIN (with something else).

37 - 38 While the main group stupidly makes its way back to Camp B (where the boss will be pulled), bring the remaining mobs from behind the AH to them.

39 - Pull the Boss. Self-explanatory. Sac Puller might not have to die if they kite around upper alchemy long enough for the main group to kill the Boss and take the Effigy Shields from the train.

40 - Clear the AH repops first. Note that all the repops in Bastok seem to spawn 3 of the same job (i.e., 3x RNG, 3x WAR, 3x SMN)

41 - More AH Stones. One of them is 3x RNG but that's all I can remember

42 - 4 Stones in this area. The one in the corner is 3x WHM.

43 + 44 - Alternate pulls from both sides as you work your way towards the Mog House. Nothing should link if you pull them properly. You will have SERIOUS problems pulling these if the mobs get popped in advance. While the stones themselves won't link, if their mobs are spawned you're basically guaranteed to pull the entire train all at once.

45 + 46 - I never got this far on my last run, but I would assume just keep puling normally until you get to the end.

Additional Maps specifically for Pullers

DISCLAIMER: This information is compiled completely from-memory and is likely not 100% Accurate. I have not done Bastok in a LONG time so I do not have monster pop information at this time.

scorpion pets suck so hard. i tell pld to unequip weapons, and kill the scorps first. one charmed pld is much easier to deal with than the entire alliance petrified. silence and sleep always wear if we try to kill the quads first and we end up frozen getting beat on.

and i can confirm - pull 18 before pulling 12. it doesnt always link, and i was getting pretty confident it couldnt... then last run, it did, spawned a couple monks, we got petrified during monk 2 hour, and it lead to a wipe.

beautiful maps though man... you're almost making this knowledge too easy to get a hold of >.> (/OldManVoice back in my day i had to scour japanese websites and die 1243253235 times to figure this stuff out)

well the whole point of doing this is to make the info publicly available, because I'm sure there are lots of Dynamis LS who are totally clueless on what to do.

It's not a matter of linking to 18, it's a matter of stupid people wandering too far off path and aggroing it.

no, but it linked. i swear. first time it ever happened. the NM (Be'Ebo Tortoisdriver) and its statue followed me back to camp, but they stayed to the west, and linked in 2 statues from pull 18, spawning monks and whitemages. (the statues were in there furthest outward position at the time).

another first time event was, right around pull 13, going down those stairs, you can see a statue on the upper lvl (west of pull 31), and i always kind of worried about it because it was close, but it has _never_ aggroed us as we went down those stairs. but this time, it woke up as we headed down, and linked in 2 more statues in the upperlvl to get to us (30 and 31).

it was a cursed run indeed, but i just wanted to comment that it can happen.

Recently, my LS had pondered the idea of farming the first four Dynamis areas on our own for Relic items, currency, and AF2. However, since we are neither HNM nor Dynamis LS primarily, the most we could pull together would likely be 20 or so people in the low 70's.

The point of my question is, would this be effective at all? None of us have entered Dynamis before, and we aren't out for completions yet. We'd just like to get some experience with it and hopefully get some of the items.

Any comments would be great :) And sorry that this is a bit off topic.

we can swing jeuno, bastok, and sandy with about 30 people 70-75 if we have at least 2 pld tanks and 4 blm. the problem is if anything goes wrong, it goes wrong fast and there is very little hope of recovery. one or two people going down can lead to a wipe. 20 in low 70s? geez i dunno. don't wanna say it can't be done, but it would be really tough, and everyone would have to be on the ball.

question ^_^

You are doing a great job Faranim ^^

Wanted to ask if you noticed if theres difference in drop rate when more ppl are engaged in combat ? I mean... do you get fewer drops if u split group to few stand alone alliances who kills their own mobs than when whole group kills one mob one by one ?
What leads to another question... is there better drop rate if more ppl are on board ? (aside from that you kill more mobs with more ppl :) )

Can't wait for Windy walkthrough ^_^/
